Expressive Printmaking class with Vanda - Day 1 Monoprint

We had a great day.  5 of us.  Me, Norah, Karin, Lynn, Sheila.  And Vanda - tutor.  I was working with my stencils from the Nancy Spero class (City Lit).  I stuck to just a couple of stencils, to work with simplified forms to see where it took me.  I need to read around Barthes Death of the Author, and what makes a nude sexualised, so I can get my head around feedback from an MA tutor at London Met who disliked my nude forms.  But in the meantime, I am exploring the nude form in print.

"Linking Arms"

Same stencil, different prints

"Strong woman"

This one works well with the fortuitous comment on the paper.

"Don't mess with us"
Same stencil, repeated pressings

"Forming my opinion"

A team of four

"Grounded"
